Gaudete Et Exsultate
On the Call to Holiness

'...mercy is the fullness of justice and the most radiant manifestation of God's truth.
It is the key to heaven.'
[90 & 91]

WHO ARE WE?

Our parish was formed in the Jubilee Year of Mercy and is a marriage of the parishes of
St Alphonsus (1969), St Bernadette’s (1934),   St Brigid’s (1951)
and St Patrick’s (1888) parishes.

We strive to embody the ideal of ‘Mercy’, and how this relates us to each other and the world around us.

Our Feast Day is the Second Sunday of Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday).

One  Family of Faith

Our church exists because of our
shared belief in

God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We are grounded in prayer, and prayer nourishes each of us individually and as a community.

We aim to celebrate as a
community in prayer,
where everyone participates fully.

To be a healthy community that lives according to our mission we are called to care for others and our world by stretching the capacity of our hearts, to celebrate and be grateful for each other and the gifts we offer, and to continue our journey of faith by being open to ongoing learning and education.

Pope Francis sums this up with a quote about a church that must go out into the streets.
“I prefer a Church which is bruised, hurting and dirty because it has been out on the streets, rather than a Church which is unhealthy from being confined and from clinging to its own security.”
God's mercy can make even the driest land become a garden, can restore life to dry bones (cf. Ez 37:1-14). ...
Let us be renewed by God's mercy, let us be loved by Jesus, let us enable the power of his love to transform our lives too; and let us become agents of this mercy, channels through which God can water the earth, protect all creation and make justice and peace flourish.
